USASA Development Team

The Theodore Wirth Development Team (TWDT) is currently accepting applications this season.

Purpose: To offer professional snowboard coaching to motivated intermediate and advanced riders that desire to compete in local, regional and national competitions.

We focus on establishing team building while achieving personal and social skills for all riders. Our coaches will enable each rider to build relationships with others that have similar goals and aspirations while having fun.

Disciplines: Professional coaches will focus on snowboarding fundamentals, free riding, freestyle and alpine disciplines. Disciplines will be obtained with the focus on safety, fun and learning.

Goals: We are aware that our coaches have the opportunity to share a considerable amount of time with each individual on the team. Our staff understands that they are in an influential position and strive to advance each riders emotional development and technical skills while focusing on safety.

Parents have the ability to be a part of this development. Dedicated parents are key to each rider’s success. We look forward to working with motivated parents and committed riders that want to build self confidence, self-esteem, enthusiasm for snowboarding, sportsmanship, snowboard etiquette and create friendships that will last for years to come.

Ages & Abilities: Riders must be over the age of 10 and have the ability to snowboard down intermediate hills with the desire to advance their abilities in park, pipe and racing. If your child does not fit into this classification, we offer 2 day camps throughout the season to get them to this level.

Weekday & Weekend Training: Most of the coaching will be offered at Theodore Wirth Snowboard Area. We will meet twice during the week (6 -9) and once during the weekend.

Competitions: Each participant must have transportation and purchase a lift ticket at each venue. View Event Schedule

Costs: $1000 for Coaching Only. A season pass at Theodore Wirth is required ($100).
